Welcome to
Sinaitutorialinc.org where the dream begins. This was my
dream after experiencing myself having a special child
my son little Joshua, and not much help or guidance. On
October 27, 1994, after his funeral, I made a promise
that I would go back to school learn about special
education and make a difference for these Children. I do
not have my baby any more, however I can help others.
Learning that the system makes everything so hard for
the families, and the help they get is so limited.
In 1999 I finished my BA on elementary school, during
this time I was working at the Department of Education.
Knowing now how the education really works, I went back
and began the program for re-certification on the
following; Special education, English as second
language, and pre-school, when the certification was
completed. I knew that it was time to begin my Master
degree. At this time I was researching about how to
provide services to the communities and how to get
founding. In 2004, the Sinai Tutorial Inc became a
reality. It is a non-profit organization, that will give
not only services to the community, also hope to our
children with special needs and their families. During
this time I was working on my Masters, graduating on May
2005.
I didn't want to do for Sinaí the same as every other
school in Puerto Rico. I began doing a research about
inclusion schools. What will be better than learning the
system from the inside out. I applied at the beginning
of 2006 for NYCDOE, not knowing that the same summer I
was taking a plane to a place I was never introduce
before, and the barrier of the language. Now looking
back I can understand the bureaucracy and problems that
these school have in Puerto Rico. I created a system
with techniques that eliminate all these problems.
In this fiscal year 2009, our primary goal is to raise
six million dollars for the purchase of eighteen acres.
Sinai has a calendar of events wish consist of a
Marathon, Concerts, and raffles. Please explore our site
